A universal kindergarten? An additional years in high school – that of the grade 11 and grade 12? The questions that keep on hunting the emotions of parents particularly the program surely asks additional financial support.
The K to 12 program is the innovative project of the present government to enhance, improve and fit the basic education curriculum of the Philippines. Yes, it is true that adding a universal kindergarten and 2 more high school years ask additional amount of money, however, it will as well add strong and stable profile to the Filipino learners as to their skills and needed competencies. The needed skills competencies that will equip them the necessary qualifications to compete the entire learners of the world; the needed competencies to fit them in the global world; the needed competencies for them to land in a good job; and most importantly; the needed competencies for us Filipino learners to be recognized and truly credit what we have gained and learned from the Philippine educational system. Have you taken down note the experiences of the Filipino doctors who went abroad and landed only nurses? Why?- because they lack years in their schooling; their formal years in basic education level and college are not sufficient to be equated and credited as to that in American and European levels
